Our farmers are an eclectic group managing land of varying scale and character across WA, from Geraldton down to Albany, with different profiles and mix of plant crops and livestock.
They are united in their pursuit of excellence knowing that organic is a more difficult way and united in a belief in the underlying principles. We source our meat from their co-operative, an organisation that enables farmers to access markets efficiently and enables us to secure a continuing supply of high-quality meats for WA consumers.
They are practical, and welcoming – a few have farm stay accommodations so you can visit.
There are currently 34 growers selling meat through the Co-Op and by choosing their exceptional product we can provide opportunities for more farmers to manage their land to organic and biodynamic standards.
Some of our farmers choose a rural environment to live in as a family and food production is inextricably linked to environmentally conscious lifestyles. Dugite Farm near Donnybrook is self-sufficient with a focus on sustainable biodynamic practices.
Others focus more on fruit and vegetables, such as the 300ha Balbarup Farm where Wayne Edwards started an organic journey in 1998 and now produces ‘Tree of Love’ Avocados and Plums and a wide range of vegetables with abundant manure from cattle and sheep.
